Executive Director

Position: Executive Director


Organization: Williston United Fútbol Club (WUFC)

Reports to: Board of Directors


About the Club


Williston United Fútbol Club (WUFC) is a youth competitive soccer club providing the

Williston, ND, community with opportunities to grow as players and people both on and

off the field. Founded in 2017 with a single coed team, WUFC has grown into a full

program with boys’ and girls’ teams spanning ages U8–U18. We offer both summer

outdoor and winter futsal travel seasons.


Position Summary


WUFC is seeking an Executive Director to lead operations, support player and coach development, generate revenue through fundraising and clinics, and expand the club’s community presence. This individual will serve as the primary leader of the club, ensuring that athletes and coaches have the structure, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed while building long-term sustainability for the organization.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Athlete Development.
  • Design and oversee age-appropriate training programs that build technical skill, tactical understanding, physical development, and character.
  • Collaborate with coaches to align training sessions with the club’s player development pathway.
  • Implement consistent methods of evaluating player progress and share feedback with athletes and families.
  • Encourage team-building and sportsmanship across all age levels.
  • Volunteer Coach Development
  • Recruit, mentor, and support volunteer coaches to provide a positive and consistent training environment.
  • Organize coaching clinics, workshops, and accessible resources to develop coaching confidence and quality.
  • Establish feedback systems to help coaches grow in their roles.
  • Support ongoing certification and professional development opportunities.
  • Revenue Generation
  • Lead fundraising initiatives to ensure financial stability and growth.
  • Develop and promote paid clinics and camps to serve athletes and generate revenue.
  • Plan and execute community fundraising events throughout the year.
  • Build sponsorship opportunities and partnerships with local businesses and organizations.
  • Oversee an annual fundraising campaign with measurable goals and results.


Community Outreach

  • Represent WUFC at community events and foster visibility throughout the region.
  • Build strong relationships with schools, recreation programs, and community organizations.
  • Ensure inclusivity and accessibility in all programming to welcome athletes of all backgrounds.
  • Strengthen communication through social media, newsletters, and storytelling that highlights club successes.
  • Provide leadership opportunities for athletes to coach, referee, and give back to the local soccer community.


Qualifications

  • Experience in youth sports leadership, nonprofit management, or related fields.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of soccer and/or futsal player development preferred.
  • Ability to recruit, support, and motivate volunteers.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, sponsorships, or program development.
  • Passion for youth development and community impact.


Position Details

  • Reports directly to the volunteer Board of Directors.
  • Compensation: $55,000/yr with supplemental options available.
  • Schedule: Flexible, with evenings and weekends required for games, clinics, and events.
